HOW CAN I USE THIS COVID-19 HUB?

The Hub was designed to provide key data that state and local governments, federal agencies, and local organizations can use in their work. These data can help locate areas with at-risk populations and businesses that can be used to focus COVID-19 response efforts. The data can also help organizations working with people and businesses in their area recover from the pandemic by helping them allocate their resources to those areas with the greatest need.

WHAT ARE THE DATA SOURCES FOR THIS TOOL?

The demographic, socio-economic, and housing data are from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS). The ACS is an ongoing household survey that provides vital information on a yearly basis about our nation and its people. The Hub uses various Data Profiles and Detailed Tables from the 2014-2018 ACS 5-year estimates. The economic (business) data are from the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns (CBP) program. The CBP program is an annual series that provides subnational economic data by industry. This series includes the number of establishments, employment and payroll. The Hub uses the 2017 CBP.
